Jinchen Purple Forest (Zi-lin)   Ink Review # 239   Originally posted on FPN: Apr 16, 2026   --- 🧾  Description   Ink:  Purple Forest Brand:  Jinchen Country:  China Available:  18 ml bottles from AliExpress or Taobao if you understand Chinese. Pens used:  Pilot Kakuno Japanese EF nib, Lamy Safari (EF,F,M,B, stub 1.1), Hongdian Forrest with a Long Blade nib, Karas Kustoms Vertex with a FPnib flex nib and an extra-wet ebonite feed (three ink channels!).   When perusing the Jinchen inks, this was the first ink that hooked me. Akkerman #09 Laan van Nieuw Oost-Indigo   Ink Review #   112   Originally posted on FPN:  Jan 26, 2024   Ink:  #09 Laan van Nieuw Oost-Indigo Brand:  Akkerman Availability:  60 ml bottles. Pens Used:   Pilot F3A EF,  Kaweco  (EF/F/M/B, BB), Waterman W2 vintage flex.  Description According to Vanness,  The name of this ink is a play on Laan van Nieuw Oost-Indië (Avenue of New East Indies), a major street in The Hague. It’s a handsome greyish blue-black ink, slightly dry, with a mouthful of a name. Unlike several other  reviewers, my writing experience was quite unpleasant.  The ink was sluggish and dry. I would say it might need a wet pen with a nice smooth nib. Chroma It is quite complex. Note the turquoise on the top and purple at the bottom.
