Pelikan Edelstein Apricot Achat   Ink Review # 221   Originally posted on FPN: Jan 07, 2026 --- 🧾   Description Ink:  Pelikan Apricot Achat Available:  50 ml bottled. Pens Used:  Pilot Kakuno F3A, Lamy (EF/F/M/B/ Stub 1.1) , Kanwrite Desire with a FPR Ultra-flex nib. Pelikan Edelstein Apricot Achat is the ink of the year 2025. Achat is the German word for Agate. I’m a bit confused by the naming, mixing English and German, as in French it translates into  Apricot Buying ; to each its own.    Many thanks @lithium for the sample.  It’s a wet bright orange ink, lacking in the lubrication department. It has subtle shading. It ghosted and bled through on copy paper and with a wet flex nib on Iroful and a bit on Rhodia.  Despite a lovely name, I find the colour harsh and slightly fluorescent. But then I don’t like orange inks much.  As the scans were off, I took photos only.  As a writing ink it’s legible. I would say thi...

Pelikan Edelstein — Star Ruby   Ink Review #  145   Originally posted on FPN:  Sep 12, 2024   Ink:  Star Ruby Brand:  Pelikan Edelstein Country:  Germany Availability:  50 ml bottles. Pens Used:  Lamy (Reverse EF/EF/ F/ M/ B, 1.1) Kanwrite Flex. Description This is a very, very wet, hot pink-fuchsia. It has the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Surprisingly, it’s very well-behaved on copy paper, but there was some bleed-through with reverse EF, EF, F, and flex nibs on Iroful.  The broader the nib, the lighter the colour. There is minimal shading, even on Iroful, which can enhance the shading of other inks.  The ink has no water resistance. As it's pink, it's a pain to clean, but it has surprisingly fast dry times on Rhodia. There is a hint of gold sheen when applied liberally on paper. If you like wet inks, flashy colours, and dream of rubies, this is for you Chroma Writing Samples I’ve added Iroful paper to the lineup. Even with Iro...

Pelikan Edelstein — Rose Quartz   Ink Review #  115   Originally posted on FPN:  Feb 14, 2024   Ink:  Rose Quartz Brand:  Pelikan Edelstein Country:  Germany Availability:  50 ml bottles. Pens Used:  Pilot Kakuno EF, Lamy Safari (EF, F, M, B, 1.1), Kanwrite with an Ahab nib. Description Ink of the Year 2023 Many thanks to @Lithium466for the sample. It’s a chameleon of an ink. It has a lot of character with EF to M nibs and is gorgeous with flex, where the halo effect is accentuated. However, with Japanese EF, B & Stub nibs, it was just a plain boring pink. It doesn’t like copy paper. Ink is wet with slightly below average lubrication. Chroma Writing Samples Quotes are at best attributed. As far as I know Mahler had only one wife.
