KWZ Orange — Ink Review #175

KWZ Orange Ink Review # 175 Originally posted on FPN: Mar 12, 2025 Ink:  KWZ Orange Brand:  KWZ Country:  Poland Availability:  60 ml bottles. Pens Used:  Pilot Kakuno EF, Lamy Safari (EF / F / M / B / Stub 1.1), Kanwrite Desire with FPR Ultraflex. 🧾  Description Part of a mystery-ink blind test on another website. This is a very, very joyous, wet, reddish / coral orange, depending on nib size and pen, with faint shading in M / B dry Lamy Safari nibs, zero water resistance, and very long dry times on Rhodia. You need to have a blow dryer nearby, live in the desert, or use a blotter like in the good old times. The colour is so bright that seeing the shading is a bit difficult. I doubt that much shading is seen with a wet pen. KWZ inks are known for their typical vanilla scent, though despite my sensitivity to scents, I did not notice it in this one. It couldn’t handle the Kanwrite Desire with the FPR Ultraflex nib. Either it poured ink or was ink-sta...

Endless Alchemy Mystic Forest Ink Review # 174 Originally posted on FPN: Mar 06, 2025 Ink:  Endless Alchemy Mystic Forest Brand:  Endless Alchemy Country:  Not specified. Availability:  60 ml bottles; at the time of the original review, available from some retailers in North America and Europe. Pens Used:  Pilot Kakuno EF, Lamy Safari (EF / F / M / B / Stub 1.1), Osmiroid copperplate nib. 🧾  Description Many thanks to @JungleJim for the sample. This was part of blind ink testing on another FP website. They have very cleverly designed ink bottles and seem to be still available from some retailers in North America and Europe. It is my understanding that these inks are made for Endless Stationery, but I'm not sure where they are made. The bottles are clearly 60 ml, but on some websites they are sold as 45 ml. 😕 This is a dark green / teal chameleon of a colour, mint green / teal to dark green, and changes depending on the paper / pen / nib combo you u...

Taccia Cha Brown — Ink Review #173

Taccia Cha Brown Ink Review # 173 Originally posted on FPN: Feb 27, 2025 Ink:  Taccia Cha Brown Brand:  Taccia Country:  Japan Availability:  40 ml bottles. Pens Used:  Pilot F3A Japanese EF / soft flex, Lamy Safari (EF / F / M / B / Stub 1.1). 🧾  Description This was part of blind ink testing on another FP site. It's a fun practice; one needs to throw most prejudices out and focus on the ink. The words cha and chai used in Japanese, Russian, Hindi, and Farsi ultimately derive from Chinese pronunciations of 茶 (chá). In this case the ink represents well the colour of the rare Japanese black tea, Wakoucha. It is a light reddish brown colour with slightly below-average lubrication. It looks flat on Rhodia and gorgeous on Iroful. Dry times are long on Rhodia, so very long on Japanese papers. Shading is only visible with dryish pens and disappears with wet pens. Removing the ink stains from my fingers required a pumice stone. Ink doesn't like copy paper at all....
