Jacques Herbin Vert Pré (Meadow Green)   Ink Review # 233   Originally posted on FPN: Mar 13, 2026 ---   🧾  Description   Ink:  Vert Pré Brand:  Jacques Herbin Country:  France Available:  10/30 ml bottles and cartridges worldwide. Pens Used:  Pilot Elite EF, Lamy (EF/F/M/B/ stub 1.1), vintage Sailor flex. As of the posting of this review, all J Herbin inks are now branded Jacques Herbin. This ink belongs to the 40-ink Les Perles des Encres series.    It’s a yellow-green with a neon quality. It is legible. Lubrication is slightly below average; water resistance is nil on coated paper.     As it’s not a colour I appreciate much, I’ll stop here.  ---   🧪  Chroma   ---   ✍️  Writing Samples (photos only)   Translations from the original French are provided for reference only.   Jinchen Lantau Dream   Ink Review # 232   Originally posted on FPN: Mar 08, 2026 ---   🧾  Description   Ink:  Lantau Dream Brand:  Jinchen Country:  China Available:  18 ml bottles from AliExpress. Pens Used:  Osmiroid Copperplate EEF flex nib,  Lamy (EF/F/M/B/ Stub 1.1).     Jinchen is a small Chinese ink manufacturer. After perusing their offerings on AliExpress, it seems that the inks are divided into chromo-shading, sheening, and shimmer inks. I bought a bottle after @LizEF’s reviews and @A Smug Dill’s passionate posts on Reddit and FPN.    Lantau Dream, originally  屿梦  (Yu Meng), meaning Island Dream, is named after Lantau Island, the biggest island of Hong Kong.      I got this ink by mistake (I was aiming for another colour, but AliExpress can be confusing).  :D    It’s a classic teal ink with a red sheen. The sheen is visible with the EF, F, or fle...

Fanyantan- Sakura Blizzard   Ink Review # 231   Originally posted on FPN: Mar 04, 2026   ---   🧾  Description   Ink:  Sakura Blizzard Brand:  Fanyantan Country:  China Available:  20 ml bottles, Soe & Soe in Australia, or AliExpress. The brand name is sometimes transcribed as Fangyangtan on online marketplaces. Pens Used:  Pilot Kakuno EF, Lamy (EF/F/M/B/ stub 1.1), Duke Fude with overfeed, Karas Customs Vertex with a FPNIBS ultra flex with an extra wet ebonite feed.   This ink is one of the six inks in season 4 by Fanyantan. I had previously reviewed Qinghai wave here:    The name Sakura Blizzard evokes cherry blossoms in Japan.    It’s a chromo-shading ink, but if you think you will get the promotional image effect, think twice. It’s a tan colour, the kind you might see in old buildings from the 70s.  The only way I got the effect was with Duke fude pen with an overfeed, which ga...
