Ink Review # 85

Description
1984 is part of Noodler’s regular lineup and not one of the special edition inks previously released.
It’s a fast-drying, cellulose-loving ink. It absolutely hates Tomoe River 68 gsm paper. It did a lot of unmentionable things to it, so beware Hammermill paper!
What I noticed was that if the feed is primed, the ink will bleed through anything. However, if one “un-primes” the feed or lets the ink settle for a few days in the pen, it’ll work fine.
Noodler’s has many bulletproof purples, which are better behaved than this one, such as Tchaikovsky or Polar Purple, to name a few. But then again, if you’re a fan of Orwell’s 1984, you can rein in this misbehaving ink: either with Rhodia, Midori or Maruman notebooks, or a thick absorbent paper with an F nib. Using a gusher is foolhardy!
Over the week or so of using this ink, I noticed I enjoyed writing with it, thanks to its excellent lubrication.

I didn't bother posting Hammermill; if it bled through this paper, imagine what it would do to cheap copy paper

The Kakuno EF was primed—not a good idea. As you can see, the excess ink spread through the paper. Once the feed settled, it behaved normally.
