Description

This is a bright red nano-pigment ink. These inks are waterproof and light fast.

The naming of the inks is whimsical: the colour followed by an arbitrary animal.

It's a well-behaved, lubricated and wet coral red ink. It's not a colour that I really appreciate.

Note on Octopus Write & Draw inks: These are pigmented fountain pen inks, so they are best used in well-sealed pens that are easy to dismantle. Some colors clean out easily, while others may need pen flush if water alone is not enough. Octopus lists a two-year shelf life and notes ISO 12757-2 / DIN ISO 14145-2 compliance.

·      What I did not like: The colour.
·      What some might not like: Same as above.
·      Shading: Nope.
·      Ghosting: Yes on copy paper, depending pen, nib, pressure.
·      Bleed through: Same as above.
·      Flow Rate: Wet.
·      Lubrication: Good.
·      Nib Dry-out: Did not notice.
·      Start-up: Did not notice.
·      Saturation: What do you think?
·      Shading Potential: Mmmm!
·      Sheen: Did not notice.
·      Spread / Feathering / Woolly Line: Did not notice.
·      Nib Creep / “Crud”: Did not notice.
·      Staining (pen): No.
·      Clogging: Did not notice.
·      Cleaning: It’s a red pigment ink. Emphasis on both colour and type. However, it was quite easy to clean.
·      Water resistance: Excellant

It’s viscous and reminds me of Kung Te-Cheng or Polar Black.  This ink is paper and pen specific.  The ink can stain transparent sections or body, but it can be cleaned with a combination of elbow-grease and pen flush.  The woolly-line effect happens with a wet, flexed Kanwrite. Jacques Herbin — Bistro Parisien   Ink Review # 266   Ink:  Bistro Parisien Series:  Couleurs de Paris (Colors of Paris) Brand:  Jacques Herbin Country:  France Availability:  10 ml, 30 ml bottles.  Pens Used:  Osmiroid Copperplate EEF flex, Lamy Safari (EF, F, M, B, 1.1) Description This is one of three new inks added to the  Couleurs de Paris  collection.  It’s a tribute to the Parisian bistros. I got my sample from Fountainfeder in Germany.  With a dry pen it’s a lovely, luminous red, with a wet pen it is a lovely red-black with gorgeous shading. It has no water resistance. It made my Osmiroid nib sing; however, with Lamy nibs the lubrication was slightly below-average to excellent, depending on the nib size. At dusk she grieves; then come wind and rain. Heedless of envious flowers, with no desire to compete, Her blooms ravaged and trampled in mud, ground to dust, only her fragrance lingers unchanged. After browsing through their ink catalogue, I chose this one which looked most promising as a chromo-shading ink. It came in a classic ink vial filled to the rim with no identification.
