According to  https://geology.com/minerals/hematite.shtml : Hematite is one of the most abundant minerals on Earth's surface and in the shallow crust and the most important  ore of iron .  For what it’s worth, hematite, which means blood red, is one of the oldest pigments and was used by our ancestors for cave paintings. Kala Hematite is a dusky, dreamy grey-purple, not as wet as Scapolite but slightly sluggish. It is a pleasing, soothing color, especially with B and fude nibs. Note on pigment inks:  Pigmented fountain...

As of 2023, Kala also had three series of dye-based inks. This is my first pigment ink from this brand. According to  https://geology.com/minerals/scapolite.shtml : "Scapolite  is a name used for a group of aluminosilicate minerals that includes meionite, marialite, and silvialite" No comment.  😄 I am not a fan of pale pencil-greys or grey-blacks. Brand:  Tono and Lims Country:  Japan / South Korea; ink made in Korea. Availability:  30 ml bottles. Pens Used:  Pilot Kakuno M, Jinhao 450 medium, Kanwrite ultra-flex, TWSBI Go stub. Description This is my first pigment ink from this brand. According to Shigure Inks, Tono & Lims is a Japanese brand whose inks are a collaboration with South Korean ink producer Lim's Lab . The inks are made in Korea. This is a pigment ink belonging to the Tono & Lims Fixation Line for fountain pens. It comes in cute glass bottles, which is very appealing. The name of the ink, 柊 Hiiragi, corresponds to Osmanthus heterophyllus, or false holly, a lovely shrub with dark holly-shaped leaves and fragrant flowers. I am guessing the color corresponds to young shoots or to the yellowish-green of a certain cultiv...

Pens Used:  : Noodler’s Ahab, Jinhao 450 (M, fude), Lamy Safari B Description Another great ink for iron gall ink lovers. The name is quite a mouthful. Thanks to @christof for introducing them to me. It was made in Germany and exclusively sold from their website by the maker, Thomas Bergmann.  It came in 2 colors: red and blue. Both inks are water-resistant. The blue one slightly more so. The price plus shipping to Canada for two bottles was €16. That's 8€ a bottle. The bottles remind me of smaller De Atramentis ones. As you can see the labels are very elegant. Note the beautiful red dye: It's a wet ink with slightly below-average lubrication. The ink is br...
